About this site

This site is hosted on a Raspberry Pi 5 with 8 GB RAM. It runs Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS. The server is Apache. The thing is located on my bookshelf. It started about a year ago when it occurred to me that my stuff was hosted all over the web, e.g., on YouTube, Last.fm, Blogspot, and so on. I’ve always liked tinkering with computers. I was not aware of the rabbit hole I entered. Yes, that’s a T420 used as a server. On my bookshelf, I also self-host a Nextcloud server, an Ubuntu Landscape server, a Samba share, a Jellyfin media server (and an *arr-stack to sometimes fetch media), a GoAccess server to analyze the Apache logs for real visitors, and a Pi-hole with Stubby and nextDNS upstream to block ads and ensure safe Internet browsing. Up until January 2025, I used WordPress, but that was overkill given the aim of hosting my prose and music. Don’t expect this static hugo site to become any more beautiful because I don’t think it can.
